It is hard to come to this, but I have realized that there are people who would appreciate very much my talking about the Rhinoplasty. I got one in 1991. I was twenty-three. Basically since childhood I had had a deviated septum. So, when I got punched in the nose at a concert and needed an ENT to work on my nose in 1991, I was told the septum could be corrected as well.
The Rhinoplasty and the broken nose were corrected during an operation. I didn’t realize at the time I was getting the big improvement that would turn my life around. There was definitely a change after the Rhinoplasty. People knew what I was thinking because I was thinking the same kind of thoughts that most people were having – popular thoughts. My experience was a little bit psychiatric. The truth that I was blown away by the amount of my participation socially meant that I had made an improvement in a good way.
Well, really, people were surprised. Even today my family says I am different. During the time I was undergoing the procedure, I stayed home for a week with the packing and plastic parts in my nose. One of my friends who lived next door believes he meet the Devil. I was going through some discomfort with my nose full of stuff. I recall when the stuff was removed. The ENT took a tweezers pull at the lower sinus cavity and through my nose removed sum ten feet of packing in the form of a thin cotton rope. The Plastic brace plates were locked together by a single stitch through the septum. I was surprised at the size of them. They were so large that they needed to be curled to be removed. They were the plates that made the septum straight; one on each side. The septum is the flexible cartilage in the middle of the nose. I will never forget my Rhinoplasty. Everything that happened to my nose, from getting punched to the removal of the stuff gave me pleasure. It felt good to have the packing removed. And, it felt good when it was broken. I am not a brave person. I have had some time to look back on my experience and thus I am able to say that there was pleasure. If I am a different person for having a Rhinoplasty, I am glad. It was good.
Having a deviated septum is a curse that caused me to internalize everything in the world. I lived on the larges of others with the premise that people are good. My life is very different now. Instead of just drifting from person to person and having them as if by chance, I interact with them, and I form my own future based on common thoughts. So, I’m not just old school and just recalling memories about my childhood events. To me there is a real difference.
Let me explain that my life is different. With a deviated Septum the air passages from the two sides of the nose are different. This creates lift like in an airplane wing. One side with a curvature and another with a divot. The septum is activated in a way that makes the brain secrete a chemical into the blood system. This is very important to understand. The development of the chemical over time makes it harder for the cells to communicate. Interestingly that debris is as unique to the individual as a fingerprint. The debris that the brain makes from the unequal air passages via the septum affects the outside of the cells. It is conservative in time. When the air passages are made equal (the Rhinoplasty) the cellular debris gets worked out in time. It is almost as if you can see your life before you. Slowly over time the conditioning improves. This process is unlike anything that a person could experience. But even to the extent that one can perceive the improvements in the cellular conditioning, it is important to understand that it is a chemical on the outside of the cells. So, the experience is not threatening. Since this conditioning is conservative, that is time to make it and time for it to work out, learning takes place. I learned about my life. I learned from other people. Now I have learned to keep my cells clean and I am a Star!
I want to tell you that this procedure is one of the best things to have happened to me. If you have the opportunity to get a Rhinoplasty – do it! It is safe. And, it feels good. And, most of all, it will be that moment where you will begin to examine your life and conclude that you are improving in a productive way. Good luck!
