This and the next few posts are pictures of Art I did in 1989. I was taking lower division Art classes at Santa Barbara City College. There were a great many drawings and gauche paintings from that time. I am showing the few I was able to retain.
Robert Van’t Hoff painting – 1989
This painting, which I have also shown the picture was in my Art History Book. I am not sure how I was able to render it with so much detail. The medium is water based gauche in a monochromatic color scheme. This is one of the paintings which I did in 1989 for a SBCC Art class. I am so proud of my work, and it is a pleasure to share. I am also thinking that if the painting still exists, this would be a record establishing me as the artist.
Robert Van’t Hoff: Ituis Ter Heide Utrech, The Netherlands; 1916. The rendering was by Jeffrey Devitt; 1989
Duck and Dragon
I have very few records of Art work from 1989. I was prolific mostly in Gauche on illustration board as there were many assignments for design composition and color. This picture is of the duck and the dragon. Interestingly, this picture viewed upside down looks like the name JEFF. The pattern is two ducks for every dragon.
This picture is titled, “The Duck And The Dragon;” by Jeffrey Devitt, 1989
Coke and Pepsi Painting
This is the last of my old photographs of Artwork I did in 1989. I was taking lower division Art courses at Santa Barbara City College. There were a great many Art works from this time. Much of my work has been lost. Particularly, this painting was not a school assignment. I later mused that Coke and Pepsi could be in competition by a vote of preference. Today, these are not the only companies competing for your business; however, Pepsi is the underdog. I wish that I had a better picture of it, but I am certain about the real thing, the owners of the painting are happy with it. That is all I could ask for.
This painting is called “Coke and Pepsi.” It is by Jeffrey Devitt; 1989.
Bicycle
My father stole a bicycle when he was a boy. That affects me in the form of a cognitive imbalance. The matter is concerning a possibility. The badly needed capacity to reason is missing in my perspective. The person discerns the facts from someone else’s possibility. I can only hope that Spinoza provides the context when I am in need of support. Below is a bicycle. Although it is not the main part of the composition, the bicycle is present. Lately I’ve been thinking I would like to do a painting of a bicycle.

Blue Painting Completed
I am submitting my final result to Gevluef. There was a plan for additional layers of paint, for example a layer of wax medium, but due to the fact that the figure is a female and not me, I decided against it. This painting has a strong NARRATIVE. That I’m most proud of. It is also a good example of a picture in which a girl would use as a fire-wall; see Make Me A Picture.
Comment: This painting iterated when Joyce saw it on March 8, 2023

Sniffles
The time to get the sniffles is when you feel electricity.
My experience where I live, I’m developing post traumatic stress disorder from a fire door that has gone off twice now. I have tolerated periodic feelings of electricity knowing that the over all goal of a service is to help. I want my service; and, I have developed the coping skill of sniffles to manage.
Because I am not the only recipient of the service, I have decided to explain how I am managing. I imagine that a reader of my blog could also feel electricity. And, having read this post the reader will know what to do: get the sniffles

Broomcorn Brooms
It is a family directive for me to learn about brooms for sweeping, broom making and broom history. My local news paper VCStar has an article, Yardsmart: How early brooms developed from sorghum. And below is a picture from a blog where broom making is a family business.
